From day one of being connected with Jose, my illustrator, on this glorious project, I would send him my versions of the "scenes" in the story as I saw them in my brain, sketched to the best of my drawing abilities. (I'm the writer at this party...clearly!) In transitions that worked like beautiful sorcery, he would turn my pencil scratches into pure artistic brilliance. Below are just a few examples of how it all got started.
Pete running down Fifth Avenue, Tiffany's Box in mouth. ...And the Fragoso result below!
Pete in his trademark heel click (not nearly as good as Jose's version up in the heading!)
Here, Pete is upset about his archnemesis Sookie Sookie City Shih Tzu being accidentally invited to the "Guys Only" Dinner.
...And the Fragoso result below.
Pete and the gang meeting up outside The Palm for dinner. ...I can't give 'em all away!
This one is "Comic Strip" Pete and it accompanies one of the many poems in the story. ...And the Fragoso result below!
